Owl Block- Step by Step

1.  Iron out any wrinkles in your fabrics. You’ll need 2 coordinating fabrics.
2. Position the Owl body pattern piece on the wrong side of the body fabric. Put the smooth side of the paper UP. Using med high heat and NO STEAM iron the paper pattern onto the fabric. Takes about 3 seconds. You may have to move the iron to each part of the pattern.

3.  Cut the owl body shape out (leaving the paper shape on the back of the fabric.
Repeat steps 1 – 3 for the Wings and Eye Mask using the coordinating fabric.

5. Carefully cut out the black and white circles provided for the eyes.
6. Now that all the pieces are cut out, peel paper backing off the eye mask. Lay it on the front of the body, right sides up and iron.

Remove the paper off white eyes and iron it to the eye mask.

Remove the paper off black eyes and iron it to the white eyes. ( you can position the eyes as you please, looking up, down, right or left.

Remove the paper off the wings and iron them to the front of body.

Remove the paper off the beak and iron it to the owl.

Take a picture of your owl and your family or yourself .

Ty's good wishes quilt

A while ago ( um....4 years ago) Friends and family were asked to donate a fabric square for Ty’s good wishes quilt. Well, I have finally finished piecing it together. I actually got most of it together right away but did not finish the entire quilt until a few days ago. It was so fun to sit with Ty and tell him who had given each square.

He is so proud of this quilt and it makes my procrastination worth it!

Surgery

Ty had another palate surgery last week. It was suppose to be a p-flap but turned in to additional palate repair. It's very complicated and I have to really have my "thinking cap" on to explain it but long story short is that there were muscles in the soft palate area that were not attached correctly. So the doctor feels that attaching these muscles will give him better control in his speech articulation.
He did fabulous through the surgery and had recovered well. For him it means no gymnastics, trampoline or wrestling for a month. But all the pudding and ice cream he can handle!

Kaylee's new baby

A man brought a bunch of rabbits to the park after school. He was selling them for "easter bunnies" I'm not sure how many he sold but David called him " a very smart business man"
Since Kaylee's rabbit had unexpectedly passed away after 4 months we let her buy a new baby.
She is so fluffly and we don't know the gender but for now she goes by Fluffernutter.
Zane celebrated at his favorite place on earth! (Nana & Paw Paw's house)

Can't believe he's already 15!

Happy Easter

We spent a great long weekend in Louisiana. We ate boiled crawfish, fried shrimp , and BBQ ribs. Not to mention candy from Easter baskets. We did other things too... We finally found the Shiver Me Timbers park open for play. After the old park burned down the kids have been anxious to try the new one.
