Bringing home two!!!?????

OK, So we're not bringing home two new babies from China, (Well not that you know of anyway.)
BUT my friend Stefanie is!!! She is such an inspiration and a joy to know and work with. Yes, along with parenting her own 10 kids she has time to be the US Director for An Orphan's Wish. Don't know how she does it. I actually met her in China when we were there for Ty.

14 already

My big guy is 14 and I'm somewhat paniced that he will be going to high school on 4 months. (Paperbag please)
Seriously he's a lot of to hang around with and we are excited to see what God has in his future.

What a week! Sometimes on Friday I look back on my week and think I've accomplished nothing andother times im so whipped I can't see straight. This is a whipped kind of week. Last night I started thinking of all that has gone on this week and here is my list:
Took 3 kids to the dentist
Had a parent teacher conference
Chaperoned the 1st grade field trip
Attended a band competition
Helped Ty with his animal project
Went to 3 different stores before finding sugarcubes for Trent's Egypt project.
Attended Ty's rodeo day performance
Rushed out to buy new underwear for unnamed child because in a 12 hr period all the old ones don't fit anymore and we are now having daily wedgies.
Went to the zoo a 2nd time, when most of the kids got out for 1/2 day.
Nursed zane back to health after a stomach virus.
Did 7 loads of laundry
Finished all girl scout cookie work...Hallelujah!
Plus fed all these mouths all week.....

Don't get me wrong I love my job....and this is why I stay home...but im hoping for a slow week next week.

Santa Fe Fun

For spring break this year we took a trip to Santa Fe. We had a lot of fun skiing. The kids did a great job and most were skiing blues by day two. The highlight was riding the ski lifts. Zane took a snowboarding class and did really well. However, oon day two he opted to ski instead. He says snowboarding is very complicated. I'll trust him on that.

rock wall climbing

Saturday night we went to a rock wall gym. The event was a girl scout thing for Mia's troop. We had a great time learning how to hold the ropes for each other and climbing the walls. The kids had a great time scaling to the top.

Oh What fun!

All of the kids have had such a fun time with the baby bunnies. It's a constant source of amusement. They have had so much fun letting all of their friends hold the babies. We've had races with the babies. We've named the babies many different things. We've taken them to school to show their classmates.....But it's almost time for the babies to find new homes.
I hope Kaylee can handle it.....But she's not the only one who's going to miss the little creatures. They are pretty adorable

I just love all the art the kids do at school. I don't ever remember having any art classes other than the occasional Easter or Christmas craft project. It wasn't until I was in college that I took my first art class. In that class our first assignment was to draw our own thumb. (I wonder where those papers are?) Long gone I'm sure.... anyhow
I love this self portrait Ty did of himself in his Pre-K class...by the way this was a 1/2 sheet of poster paper.( Look at the scale of his facial features.....scale that's an art term...right?)

a day at the park

We went to the park with Ty's friends Tate and Nathan. They had a great time playing, swinging, and climbing. Mom had a great time catching up with her friends as well. Seems like we did this all the time when Kaylee and Trent were little but now its an occasional treat
Nevertheless we still have a lot of fun.

Rice university

Kaylee spent the day at rice university learning about science technology engineering and math. It was a girl scout event sponsored by exxon mobil and women engineers. We have to expose her to lots of different occupations. I was Excited to see the rice university campus.

tic tac toe.....3 in a row

The baby rabbits are now 12 days old. Only one has it's eyes opened. I loving call that one "Big un" he is almost twice as big as the others. Kaylee doesn't want him to have a complex so she calls it Thumper. The middle one we all call dribbles, cause it looks like God leaked black paint spots down his back. As I was telling Mia that she looked like she was really imagining that. Then she said how did they get in Clara's tummy anyway.......moving on......

The last one Kaylee calls shadow and Trent calls Mustang. So it's an arguement EVERY time.
Any other ideas on names? I like Larry Mo and Curly.....

D-Now

Last week, our church sponsored Disciple Now, or for short D-Now. This was our 3rd year to host a middle school group. We had 11 eight grade bows, 2 high school boys and one college intern. Plus all our "usual suspects" It was a house full. But we all had a great time and the boys were wonderful.
As you can see they made great use of the living room floor.

And ate...and ate...and ate...and ate....

and played some music....................

and played some Pool....

and did I mention they ate?

He's NORMAL

Normal is a relative word....right. But normal is also a Medical word that you hope the doctor will say to you one day. Especially when you have a child with a liver condition. It's been 8 years since we found out about Trent's liver condition. We've had routine blood work since that time. At the first of the year we had more blood work and his specialist called to say that Trent's Liver function numbers are in the NORMAL range. For the first time ever.

So, of course his question was, does this mean I get to stop taking my pills? But alas, he won't, because the medicine is what's regulating his liver functions. Nonetheless, we are very excited and hope this means he's on the road to leveling out......he'll never be "Cured" but this is great news for us!

Got Baby Rabbits?

Cuz We Do!!!

Clara's rabbit had 6 babies on Friday. We've had quite a learning curve on how rabbits care for their young. come to find out there is quite a lot of information. For example a mother rabbit only feeds her baby 1 or 2 times a day. So while I was paranoid that Clara was NOT being a good mother, she was in fact doing exactly what she was suppose to do.

For one reason or another 3 of the babies have not survived. So, we are down to 3 baby rabbits. We're hoping that these 3 will LIVE.

today we started seeing the beginning of fur and their eyes should open in about 7 more days.

it's a pouring party

Well maybe not a party...but the kids thought it was a party because we let them skip the first two hours of school to watch the concrete getting poured. I think we picked the two coldest days of 2011 to have this done. But as you can see from the photos we watched from the indoor heated seats.
